Quote 30 Sep

” I read when I get up in the morning, when I can during the day and every single evening. Most of my weekends are spent reading great books. Books are my constant companions. If you eat three times a day you’ll be fed. But if you read three times a day you’ll be wise.”

― Shimon Peres

I think can do that. The great Israeli statesman passed away and have always read Shimon Peres speeches and interviews. My commiserations. I have also quoted Shimon Peres in earlier posts.

I realized every day want to work, exercise, read and something else. I want a family. My accomplishments would be these.

Have a good day dear friends ! Love and Peace.

Quote 27 Sep

” To a disciple who was always at his prayers the Master said, “When will you stop leaning on God and stand on your own two feet?”

The disciple was astonished. “But you are the one who taught us to look on God as Father!”

“When will you learn that a father isn’t someone you can lean on but someone who rids you of your tendency to lean?”

― One minute wisdom, Tony de Mello

I was talking to a colleague of mine whom  meet for interviews. I really like the way he treats his wife who works in the same company.  I ask him ” How are you”. He said ” Sab uparwwale ke haat mein hein (It’s all in God’s hands)” and  further tells me ”   ” Upar wala bhi bola, mein bhi kuch nahin kar sakta tere liye  ( God has told me “even i cannot help you in these matters”…:)

This was in fun and alluding to daily stress of working lives.

Tony de Mello  a fine teacher whose writing bordered on best of all wisdom tracks is very right ” Father isn’t someone you can lean on but someone who rids you of your tendency to lean..”

The first step to adulthood. I think we need to take charge of our lives. I must.

I still think we need a grace to help us through though we are masters of our own universe.

This for today. Have a good day dear friends.

Notes -25 September 2016

25 Sep

–  In a battle of egos of two (strong willed) individuals. Often a not so deserving third person benefits. I had this realization today. To drop all egotistical positions.

– ” To keep changing dreams.” This was wonderful advise given to a young boy by a B-School professor. He shared with me in our  daily conversations. I loved it. I think we should all keep changing our dreams.

– I am grateful to every one that have met in life, every conversation and every thoughtfulness. This is my blessing.

– What is a blessing? My friend told me blessing is nothing but a choice. Our choices create our blessings.  What do you think?

I will try to one more post today.

Have a good day dear friends!

Love, Suresh

Notes – 23 September 2016

23 Sep

– The most important quality is to be Kind. Good is good. Good is limited by good to what, good to whom or good to self.

– The most important need is an opportunity. How do you get a platform? You must do everything that you can to deserve one – education, training, performance and goodwill. If you miss one lever, you will have to be very patient. I would keep opportunity a five year horizon.

– The most important gift to have is health. Diet, exercise, sleep and goodwill for all is all essential.

– The most important thing may be time. I learnt every fifteen minutes is useful. If we are doing one thing, we are not doing another. Time is precious.

– The most important relationship is with oneself. If we are true to ourselves. We are true to life. We are true to all.

I have been away and wanting to do more posts. I would love to be more regular. I just need to juggle all of above.

Have a good dear friends! Peace and love.

Wayde Van Niekerk : Men’s 400m Sprint Final ( Rio 2016)

18 Sep

” Van Niekerk found his fortune in the 400m, but the irony is that he hates the event.

“Once you’ve been blessed with something you need to use it as best as possible. I’m not going to waste it. I hate the 400m but look how far it’s brought me. It does put me on the floor afterwards,” said Van Niekerk, who collapsed on the track after winning the 2015 World Championships in Beijing. There’s obviously still the Olympics. That’s definitely a must that I need to turn up for … I would love to double up on the gold again.”

” Van Niekerk started the 2016 with a bang, breaking 10 seconds in the 100m as he went 9.98sec in Bloemfontein in March to become the first man in the world to break the three sprint barriers — 10 seconds in the 100m, 20 in the 200m and 44 in the 400m.”

” Van Niekerk is unbeaten heading into Rio, as he was going into Beijing. His dream of a golden double is alive and well.”

And what a race !!

Men’s 400m sprint  final was one of the best races that saw on television. It turned out to be of the greatest races. I watched the video many times. It excites me every time.  Wayde Van Niekerk ran an outstanding race in the outside lane ” He ran blind and obliterated  Michael Johnson’s 43: 18  world record” to quote from the delightful commentary.  It was an inspiring and most brilliant run by the young South African. The field was extremely competitive with two past Olympic and World champions – Kirani James and LaShawn Merritt and other impressive runners.

They had this to say about the race:

“I thought he was going to fade a bit, I honestly did.” ( LaShawn Merritt)

” He just kept going and going and he never slowed down ( Kirani James)

Wayde Van Niekerk is now both the World ( Beijing 2015) and Olympic Champion.( Rio 2016).

Usain Bolt had this to say..

“When he came to Jamaica, I said to him, ‘You’re the only person who can break the 400-meter record. He’s very fast and keeps on going. To me, I wasn’t really surprised he got it.”

The young athlete is on to  something very special..

” I believe in myself as an athlete and I believe in my abilities. God just showed how faithful he’s been in my life and I’m very grateful for the continuous blessing.”(Wayde Van Niekerk)

This young athlete will be a legend. A humble one..

Personal Bests

100m: 9.98A (2016)

200m: 19.94 (2015)

300m: 31.03  (2016)

400m: 43.03 WR (2016 )

I am humbled and inspired by Wayde Van Niekerk.

Hope you like re run of a most brilliant race. Next post on an equally special Rio2016 women’s 400m sprint final …

Have a good day dear friends and stay inspired.

Happy Onam!

14 Sep

Onam is a harvest festival of my native state of Kerala. I cannot claim deep attachment to my native state. It’s a beautiful place. For me real roots are good people. My territory is people’s hearts. I would still honor my roots. So wish family and friends Happy Onam. What did I do? I was at work, did have a lovely conversation though ( my friend said ” What a refreshing conversation”) with two of my colleagues. I came home late, my mother had cooked for us. I wish could spend time on this day with my family.  I wish better times for every one including my family…

Happy Onam! Peace and Love or May be should say LDF and UDF  🙂

Have a good day dear friends!

Love, Suresh

Some more thoughts..

– You don’t get results by doing what you like. You get results by doing what is right.

– In things also which you like, you should do it right.

–  Do what you love, but do it right.

– What is right? If it’s education – course content, if it’s job – demands of job, if it’s business – consumer & market demands, if it’s social work – the cause and beneficiaries  etc..

–  What are the things that help being right?  discipline, humility – intellectual and personal, perseverance, clarity, work ethic etc..

–  Forget about methods, only if you are a outlier, path breaker, adventurer and want to change the world. May be there also do it right.

These are some thoughts from my experience of life. It’s not final but this is how feel at this point of time.

Have a good day dear friends! Smile and never know it might change the world..
