Some Thoughts..

5 Aug

First: Inspiration

I am not a self development junkie. I like to learn new perspectives. I also want to share and like the world to be inspired. The blog is my vehicle. I read this article today and liked it : ” Leadership lessons from the man who runs the US Olympic Track team ”  by Elizabeth Segran, fast company, 2/ 8/2016.

Please check :

It’s always good to read about sports. The article talks about nurturing talent, equipping your team, eliminating distractions and keeping the momentum going. Good advise. Do check.

Second: Office politics

Those of us who are in jobs are sometimes at the receiving end of office politics. What is office politics ? malicious slander? imaginary lies? perspectives without a basis? personally don’t care…but do think it causes much harm. Here is the thing, think people who get angry or talk tough may not be the bad guys, they are are often reacting to a feedback. Who are the trouble makers?  loyalists, charm school drop outs, the one who talks to you  nicely and will go back and say ” That fellow Suresh told me….”

You never did. But then it’s okay. Not all of us are not made the same way.  I would wish to work with good people.

Third: Attention

I feel  attention is everything. Work is attention. Love is attention. Studies is attention. Care is attention. Caring for disease is attention. Excellence is total attention.  Attention is very very important in my book. I think this may be my biggest development.  I do not have many answers and things are unclear . I resort to attention.

” If there is no joy, ease or lightness in what you are doing, it does not necessarily mean that you need to change What you are doing. It may be sufficient to change the how. ” How” is always more important than “What.” See if you can give much more attention to the doing than to the result that you want to achieve through it. Give your fullest attention to whatever the moment presents. This implies that you completely accept what is, because you cannot give your full attention to something and at the same time resist it. As soon as you honor the present moment, all unhappiness and struggle dissolve and life begins to flow with joy and ease”

― Eckhart Tolle

It’s not easy to fully honor the present moment. Some days it’s a pain. But that’s what want to do give full attention to everything. I want to end the struggle…

I want spontaneity back, it’s sporadic and naughty now, it must be back..

This for today. Hope you have a good day dear friends!

Love, Suresh
