Quote 8 Dec

“Loneliness is the penalty of leadership, but the man who has to make the decisions is assisted greatly if he feels that there is no uncertainty in the minds of those who follow him, and that his orders will be carried out confidently and in expectation of success.”
― Ernest Shackleton, South: The last Antarctic expedition of Shackleton and the Endurance

I read a case study on Ernest Shackelton the great Antarctic explorer by Harvard Business school professor Nancy F. Koehn “Leadership in Crisis: Ernest Shackleton and the Epic Voyage of the Endurance.” It was very nice to learn about the explorer’s personal sense of responsibility in great odds which is really the essence of leadership. I like both management and adventure. I will write more.

Apologies dear friends for being away, energies are better and will be good soon and post more.

Have a good day! Never stop learning and it is what makes life exciting!

Love, Suresh
