Little life poems

30 Jun

My mother

My mother is brave

My mother is wise

She is  hardworking

She tells me to be strict

Yet she fools around with me

And asks me to stay

May be am her entertainment

May be am her  hope

May be she likes me

She calls me every day

Iam so grateful to that

My mother has had so much sufferring

As a child it breaks my heart

Every time she goes to hospital

We are both scared and stoic

I wish was a ideal child

She would have been happy

Some one said am a “good son

God will acknowledge that “

” And a good brother, he added..”

I wouldn’t know but have always been very sincere

honest in my faults and sincere in my commitment

I am glad we share a little bond

Atleast she laughs at me and with me..

I have given her little bit of fearlessness

She has given me everything

The only person who stood by me

So, pray she retains her strength and courage

One more time and a new medical procedure

I saved some money

I never knew for surgery

I never thought this would come again

She is scared this time, but we will make it

I want her dreams to come true

” A new house and children married”

Then my mother will be really happy

Please pray for my mother

Two pictures:

Two happy pictures

Two pictures of families

Two pictures of mother and two children

Two pictures remind me of possibilities

Two pictures that make me cry

Two pictures that stir my soul

Two pictures of people loved

Two pictures of broken love

Will ever be in that picture

Two pictures and true love..

Happy experience

Iam waiting for a happy experience

Iam waiting for a one real happy experience

We are waiting for a happy experience

We are waiting for a one true happy experience..

( We are happy, but waiting for a happy experience..)

Three sides

The three sides

The good side

The  bad (not so good) side

The spiritual side

The good is pleasure

The bad is ugly

The spiritual is peace

You can’t escape them.

You can’t deny them

You can’t

They follow you every time

They follow you every where.

The three sides…

So, good night friends. We had a emergency and health scare. I am so glad my mother is fine. Please pay for my mothers health. My friends would..

Love, Suresh

Leonard Cohen – Dance Me to the End of Love

23 Jun

Dance Me to the End of Love : Leonard Cohen

Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin
Dance me through the panic ’til I’m gathered safely in
Lift me like an olive branch and be my homeward dove
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of loveOh let me see your beauty when the witnesses are gone
Let me feel you moving like they do in Babylon
Show me slowly what I only know the limits of
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

Dance me to the wedding now, dance me on and on
Dance me very tenderly and dance me very long
We’re both of us beneath our love, we’re both of us above
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

Dance me to the children who are asking to be born
Dance me through the curtains that our kisses have outworn
Raise a tent of shelter now, though every thread is torn
Dance me to the end of love

Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin
Dance me through the panic till I’m gathered safely in
Touch me with your naked hand or touch me with your glove
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

I have posted this song before more recently ” Scent of a woman ” dance clip 🙂

This is a great video and have always felt ” You should marry the person you want to grow old with…”

I want to grow old like Leonard Cohen, live with minimal furniture and  some one who eats clean and healthy and can cook..

Any one interested 🙂

Goodnight friends! Hope you have  a lovely day!

Apologies and some thoughts..

22 Jun

Apologies dear friends have been away from blogging, have been struggling for grace and as slowly inch to find that elusive balance, have been thinking :

– Am I making best use of this time?

– Am I doing all I can?

The young kept me incredibly happy at work and now that they have gone back to school to pursue their dreams and expectations from life. I have to have new goals. I understood that have to stitch my life around my work. It has taken me a long time to grow up. And I need to study. My mother though keeps scolding me to get married 🙂

I keep thinking ” Am I making best use of this time and am I doing all I can.” This seems to be my guiding thought.

I have had a realization ” I want things to happen in their time. I do not want things soon. I do not want things before time. My whole life has been one of patience.”

I also felt fleetingly ever so fleetingly have met people whom loved and got work that desired and felt flushed with happiness for a moment…

I am given to extreme joyfulness and extreme sadness in a solitary moment..

More and more want to feel joyfulness and stay happy and grateful..

I saw a remarkable Oprah story of a lady from  rural Zimbabwe , Tererai Trent who achieved her goals in America ” her goal was to graduate, then get a masters, and a Ph.d and  work in America…”.. So many of my Indian friends have achieved this dream….

Will I achieve my dream. ?

I will surely achieve my dream…

I do not want to be sad  though anymore. I do feel grateful for happy experiences even if they came like a bright meteor and faded into a luminous sky..

Yes I did start day with a smile and end with a broader smile..

My leg is improving and so is my health, will find my balance soon..

Till then remeber to smile and be happy dear friends!

Good night and love, Suresh

Leonard Cohen – Suzanne

15 Jun

Leonard Cohen – Suzanne

Suzanne takes you down to her place near the river
You can hear the boats go by
You can spend the night beside her
And you know that she’s half crazy
But that’s why you want to be there
And she feeds you tea and oranges
That come all the way from China
And just when you mean to tell her
That you have no love to give her
Then she gets you on her wavelength
And she lets the river answer
That you’ve always been her lover
And you want to travel with her
And you want to travel blind
And you know that she will trust you
For you’ve touched her perfect body with your mind.

And Jesus was a sailor
When he walked upon the water
And he spent a long time watching
From his lonely wooden tower
And when he knew for certain
Only drowning men could see him
He said “All men will be sailors then
Until the sea shall free them”
But he himself was broken
Long before the sky would open
Forsaken, almost human
He sank beneath your wisdom like a stone
And you want to travel with him
And you want to travel blind
And you think maybe you’ll trust him
For he’s touched your perfect body with his mind.

Now Suzanne takes your hand
And she leads you to the river
She is wearing rags and feathers
From Salvation Army counters
And the sun pours down like honey
On our lady of the harbour
And she shows you where to look
Among the garbage and the flowers
There are heroes in the seaweed
There are children in the morning
They are leaning out for love
And they will lean that way forever
While Suzanne holds the mirror
And you want to travel with her
And you want to travel blind
And you know that you can trust her
For she’s touched your perfect body with her mind.

I need to find my soul. I have only one place to go. I go to the master and song..

I spent day soul searching. So here it is –

First, I need to be friends with my freind.

Second , have been thinking on this…

“If you have more than one reason to do something (choose a doctor or veterinarian, hire a gardener or an employee, marry a person, go on a trip), just don’t do it. It does not mean that one reason is better than two, just that by invoking more than one reason you are trying to convince yourself to do something. Obvious decisions (robust to error) require no more than a single reason.”
―  Nassim Nicholas Taleb, Antifragile : Things that gain from Disorder

We will examine this, when am in grace 🙂

As for marriage, they are made in heaven and decided in heaven. Otherwise accountants would not have got married…

So we will see 🙂

Good night friends! Stay happy and be well my friends!

Love, Suresh

Marriage proposal..

14 Jun

My mother wants me married

My manager wants me married

My dear friend wants me married

Every one want’s me married

I must get married, but how?

I must believe 🙂

I believe we must marry for love and togtherness is love..

I believe if there is understanding and there must be bliss..

I believe god is a lady…

So I believe..

I hope the right person is listening to this universal call or my friend is listening 🙂

They say ” ‘And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.’ ( Paulo Coelho)

My mother will be happy, my freinds will be happy, my well wishers will be happy, most importantly i think will be happy too..:)

Good night friends! ” Suresh want’s to get married and let this be a marriage proposal ”

Hope you have a lovely day!

Love, Suresh

Vinod Khosla: Failure does not matter. Success matters.

13 Jun

” Whatever I believe. I should make happen.”

“The point is, if you actually believe something, you try your best to make it happen. It doesn’t always happen, but it happens most of the time.”

” But things do work out if you persist. Not always . I like to say ” Failure does not matter. It’s success that matters.” ”

” My willingness to fail  is what gives me the ability to suceed.”

” Most people are so afraid of failing, they don’t try and do  things that would be important enough to do. Anything woth doing is hard ”

” The funny thing is with enough peristence most things that seem impossible become possible. I am always amazed  at how often you can turn things around. People take ” No ” for an answer too easily.”

― Vinod Khosla, Just in case of a Bio:

Vinod Khosla is a change agent. Let’s just say he is” Google” of the eighties. Founder & CEO of Sun Microsystems, Venture capitalist with KPCB and then Founder of Khosla ventures. Most influential venture capitalists of our times.

I have read a Vinod Khosla’s paper before and found him most brilliant and persuasive. In this ” View from the top” series at Stanford business school says ” Leadership is about having a point of view and and internal compass.” For more : Please see :

Please do see this video about noted Venture capitalist’s often contrarian, brilliant, sometimes cocky but always honest and true take on entreprenuership and leadership.

For this blog will restrict myself to ” High persistence and High conviction.” where your’s truly have some experience. I have not even visited America. I can’t make observations on Silicon valley. That I surely will, is my belief 🙂

” What is your belief system ” the great Venture capitalist asks…

Here is my answer

Always have a inner core : I am a start up guy and has taken me twenty years to reach a reasonably large firm. My manager recently told me ” It’s only the belief which has kept us in the game…”. That’s true. I have learnt in my journey ” honesty and integrity” are not just nice human qualities. It also breeds intellectual honesty.  It’s good business. We can admit to mistakes and learn. Just as the great VC alludes in the talk. Always have a belief system and have core values. My values have always been honesty, integrity, curiosity, persistence and conviction. Even when had no money, no support, family illness, always believed in self. It’s okay to be branded cocky in adversity when you actually only have a belief system.

Humility : Adversity makes you question so many things and search for answers and it needs humility to survive. While belligerence and point of view helped in difficult circumstances. It quickly gave to rashness and blunt speak. Relationships sufferred. I had written about this in earlier posts ” I had not liked the brutual honesty part and  person had become.”  Vinod Khosla says it’s an indulgence and he is Vinod Khosla. I had to quickly go back to my childhood self. To be polite and honest. I am happy with my current self.

Persistence : It’s very true that as we repeatedly work on a activity, it get’s easier little each time. I have only two personal allies : persistence and and conviction. ” Whatever I believe. I should make happen.”  The great Vinod Khosla says as his personal philosophy. My friends reinforced always to think of” I can” in worst situations. Alway think ”  I can and You will..”

– Choose your friends wisely:  I stayed away from people for many years as needed time to sort out personal and family challenges. I had only two early friends who went out of their way to extend love and encouragement. Later found like minded well wishers. The point am making is ” I did not want to think in a general assembly line way even when life was most difficult..” I do not recommend seclusion or staying away but ” Do not allow people to broadcast or project their fears on  you and their mundane beliefs…” No two people are same. Find people who are genuine and have a positive belief system.

– Love : The most important emotion is love. This is the best experience of life. I believe it is everything. We must deal with situations and people with utmost love. ” We must simply be loving and have a loving response to world. ” is my core belief. ” If I love you. I will say it”. My father was very loving to me. I wish to be like my father. I also want to mention a early friend  whom looked upto along with my father. I hope she is well. My teachers have also been loving and kind.

– Innocence :  I like innocence. It’s good to know that you don’t know. It makes life’s journey fun and less complicated. If we don’t know something. We can always learn. I never paid attention to spread sheets. I must learn spread sheets. Like the great man, stuck to quality of thinking.

( I do want to make a mention though to start ups. Please don’t hire spread sheet guys. It is a sure way to failure.)

– Goodwill :  Never think bad about anyone. Never ever. It is hard but we must wish everyone well.

This is my some of my ” Belief system”. There are others also ” have as much as fun as possible and always smile.”

I do want to reinforce Vinod Khosla’s essential message “But things do work out if you persist.” And ” If you think you can, You will..”

Hope you have a good day!  We all have different goals. If we determine  ” We can. We will.”  And ” I will, You will..”…BELIEVE !!!

Love, Suresh

George Michael – Jesus To a Child

12 Jun

George Michael – Jesus To a Child

Kindness in your eyes
I guess you heard me cry
You smiled at me
Like, Jesus to a child

I’m blessed, I know
Heaven sent, heaven stole
You smiled at me
Like, Jesus to a child

And what have I learned
From all this pain
I thought I never feel the same
About anyone
Or anything again
But now I know

When you find love
When you know that it exists
Then the lover that you miss
Will come to you on those cold, cold nights
When you’ve been loved
When you know it holds such bliss
Then the lover that you kissed
Will comfort you when there is no hope in sight

Sadness in my eyes
No one guessed, well no one tried
You smiled at me
Like, Jesus to a child

Loveless and cold
With your last breathe you saved my soul
You smiled at me
Like, Jesus to a child

And what have I learned
From all these tears
I’ve waited for you all those years
Then just when it began
He took your love away
But I still say

When you find love
When you know that it exists
Then the lover that you miss
Will come to you on those cold, cold nights
When you’ve been loved
When you know it holds such bliss
Then the lover that you kissed
Comfort you when there is no hope in sight

So the words you could not say
I’ll sing them for you
And the love we would have made
I’ll make it for two
For every single memory
Has become a part of me

You will always be
My love
Well I’ve been loved
So I know just what love is
And the lover that I kissed is always by my side
Oh, the lover I still miss
Was Jesus to a child

I dedicate this to myself….
Good night friends! Do we need permission to love or be yourself…
This such beautiful singing and George Michael is a great artiste.
