Happy New Year, Every one..

31 Dec

Happy New Year my friends! May you have a great time bringing the new year in and may you be happy and well…

“Drink wine. This is life eternal. This is all that youth will give you. It is the season for wine, roses and drunken friends. Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life.”

― Omar Khayyam, Rubaiyat

I’m my only source of entertainment.” I read on a popular facebook page ” Humans of New York”. It’s true. Never mind, have something to hope for in new year..

” And O my love, I still recall
The pleasures that we knew;
The rivers and the waterfall,
Wherein I bathed with you.
Bewildered by your beauty there,
I’d kneel to dry your feet.
By such instructions you prepare
A man for Boogie Street. ”

― Leonard Cohen & Sharon Robinson, Boogie street

Happy Happy New Year dear friends! May you be all that you wish to be, may you be happy and healthy, may you feel the fresh air and incense of joy inside, may you be safe and peaceful, may we be friends, forever 🙂

Happy 2015!!

Have a lovely year my friends!

Thank you!

Back :)

31 Dec

I am back and back on  Boogie street 🙂

I want to share this song for you dear friends by the master and the wonderful Sharon Robinson

Boogie street : Leonard Cohen & Sharon Robinson

O Crown of Light, O Darkened One,
I never thought we’d meet.
You kiss my lips, and then it’s done:
I’m back on Boogie Street.

A sip of wine, a cigarette,
And then it’s time to go
I tidied up the kitchenette;
I tuned the old banjo.
I’m wanted at the traffic-jam.
They’re saving me a seat.
I’m what I am, and what I am,
Is back on Boogie Street.

And O my love, I still recall
The pleasures that we knew;
The rivers and the waterfall,
Wherein I bathed with you.
Bewildered by your beauty there,
I’d kneel to dry your feet.
By such instructions you prepare
A man for Boogie Street.

O Crown of Light, O Darkened One…

So come, my friends, be not afraid.
We are so lightly here.
It is in love that we are made;
In love we disappear.
Though all the maps of blood and flesh
Are posted on the door,
There’s no one who has told us yet
What Boogie Street is for.

O Crown of Light, O Darkened One,
I never thought we’d meet.
You kiss my lips, and then it’s done:
I’m back on Boogie Street.

A sip of wine, a cigarette,
And then it’s time to go…

I am back from pilgrimage and back on the boogie street. What can I say? But only this..

So come, my friends, be not afraid.
We are so lightly here.
It is in love that we are made;
In love we disappear..”

And with such instruction , Happy new year every one 🙂

Have a lovely day my friends!

Thank you!

So Goodnight friends. I will see you in new year after a short break. I hope to be back on 31st Dec. I will pray for all my friends. Till then, stay blessed and remember “Breathing in, I calm my body. Breathing out, I smile.

Beautiful Sunrise (Salar de Uyuni Bolivia): National geographic ( Photo of the day)

18 Dec

I want to share this beautiful National Geographic photo of the day, Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni. Sunrise’s are beautiful, this picture by Hideki Mizuta from South America is most beautiful.

” No wind, no sound—it was a very calm morning, I joined a sunrise tour at 2 a.m., first seeing a star-filled sky, and then early in the morning, around 5 a.m., this scene appeared through the window of the car. I ran out in a hurry. It was an amazing view that I couldn’t put into words. I thought, I want this scene all to myself, and walked away from people and took this photo in absolute silence.”

― Hideki Mizuta ( Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni)

I woke up early today and mornings have their own Rhythm . I love mornings. 2 am to 6 am is referred satvik time in the vedic literature. The best time to focus and study. In my case couldn’t sleep, so mine was incidental. I also love nights. Its calm and you can write your blog. My mom scolds me as sit late sometimes to blog. She can’t stand lights. Never mind.

This sunrise picture by Hideki Mizuta from Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni is so beautiful, hint of a beach, sea and mountains, perhaps Andes, there is sunrise, clear sky, lone man, pristine and very beautiful picture.

I want to share this refreshing and rejuvenating National geographic click for you dear friends. Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh’s says in a mindful breathing practice  ” Breathing in, I calm my body. Breathing out, I smile. ”  ( In a commentary says “This line is like drinking a glass of ice water — you feel the cold, the freshness, permeate your body. When I breathe in and recite this line, I actually feel the breathing calming my body, calming my mind.” ― Thich Nhat Hanh.)

This is how feel while seeing this picture, drinking a glass of ice water and if we do the mindful breathing practice alongside, we could simulate bliss 🙂

The world is so beautiful. If have a family, will travel. If have a job, must travel .

Good night my friends! I will be taking a short break from blogging as am traveling on a pilgrimage.

Hope you have a lovely day!  Thank you!

Rafael Nadal ( Come 2015!)

17 Dec

” Ever since he came onto the tour, he had all the markings of a guy that would be done with tennis by 26, 27, because his game was such a grind mentally and physically. He’s obviously outlasted that age. He’s made of sterner stuff than most of us because he’s able to keep coming back from injuries and long layoffs and continues to dominate. Now, you get the sense that he’s going to be as always — if he’s physically fit. I would say he’s the greatest mental player in the history of the sport. Not strategy, necessarily, but the ability to play every point as if that’s the most important one you’ve ever played, and do it every match. ”

―Jimmy Arias ( Former World #5 and commentator for Tennis Channel and ESPN.)

I remember Jimmy Arias and Aaron Krickstein as American tennis prodigies. Jimmy Arias is so very right.

” Too many things (happened) to be happy during the whole year. That’s part of my life, though. It’s happened a few times in my career. Now I have a month to prepare for the 2015 season, and that’s my goal.I’m going to work as much as I can, hope to be healthy for that. If I am healthy, I am confident that I can come back strong again. ” ( Rafa)

” I started this year believing that I was ready for everything again,I started well, playing the final in Australia, but during the final I injured my back. It was hard for me to accept that I didn’t have the chance to compete in the final. Then I went down for a while. Takes a little bit of time to recover from that mentally and physically. I was coming back to my best again … playing better and better every single week and arriving in Roland Garros with a great level. Then I won there and I was fully confident again. It was the most beautiful part of the year for me. ” ( Rafa)

rafa

” My main goal today is try to put my body and my tennis again in a competitive way. That’s what I’m going to try to do during this December. I am thinking I am (focused) about Australia because I like a lot of years in Australia, and I felt that I was doing the right things there so many years during my career. I have a special motivation for that.” ( Rafa)

All quotes and please read for more: “Can Rafael Nadal’s mind conquer his ailing body in 2015?”By Ravi Ubha and Isa Soares, December 16, 2014 CNN. Please see:http://edition.cnn.com/2014/12/16/sport/tennis/rafa-nadal-tennis-2014-injuries/index.html?hpt=hp_c5

Rafa was also named ” Favorite son of Mallorca ” . To quote Spanish great :

” I appreciate being a Mallorcan. The first thing that I do when I’m playing in other countries, whether I win or lose in the tournament, is to seek for the fastest way to go back to Mallorca. It’s always a bit tough starting off after a few difficult months, without any continuity, and after the last month-and-a-half without being able to play any sport and the appendicitis. What I must do is play well, prepare, and when the moment comes, give myself opportunities. If one of those is in the final rounds, anything could happen.” ( Rafa)

So, I wish to share a infographic of Rafa’s injuries..
mundial
The infographic shows 13 major injuries Rafa had to struggle with througout his career. It’s in spanish and may be friends could translate. Not to mention images of Rafa playing with bloodied wrist, back problems  reaching Australian open finals in 2014 and pulling out of US open with a wrist injury. Now recuperating from appendix surgery to get back to competitive sport..
Imagine, if we strain a ankle, sometimes it takes a few  months to heal, if we keep things in perspective, for me he is the best, one of the greatest ever in all fields.
Rafa inspires me in so many ways. The grit, the tenacity, the perseverance  to comeback everytime and emerge victorious. Generous in spirit and humility. I had many transitions in work and life. It’s always a deep struggle to find one’s place back again and again. Always learning and always striving hard with dignity. I think the world does not owe us anything, we must then always strive hard with purpose and belief. He is my  hero.
The Gita says ” The value of work is not in its results but in the spirit in which it is done – the right spirit being that which offers work as an incense to the Eternal. ” I think that right spirit is ” Grit” and ” Love”. If so, Rafa is the ultimate role model. My hero.
I have embraced ” Love ” and ” Grit” as religion. The latest in my arsenal after hearing Ashraf Ghani ( President of Afghanistan) speak is  “diplomacy” and “pragmatism.” Something which lacked, so if you meet me, just might say ” Good afternoon! Thank you for your service.” And what is your service? meeting me 🙂
I have no doubts, come 2015, will see Rafael Nadal winning more slams and world is so much richer because of the great Spaniard.
Rafa, my hero.
So Good afternoon! Hope you have a lovely day my friends! Thank you!

Sad day for humanity

16 Dec

I slept thinking one siege is over ( Sydney) and woke up to something so dastardly and heart breaking ( Pakistan school attack). I don’t know what to say? I have never witnessed a story as painful as this, perhaps felt the same when Boko Haram kidnapped Nigerian school girls. This is the saddest day for humanity. Innocent children ? What is their fault?

I think world must come together and make a response. A response that will ensure, never again such an incident is repeated. Never! I am just sad today, sad for little lives and families.

The report is so sad : http://www.nytimes.com/2014/12/17/world/asia/taliban-attack-pakistani-school.html

What can I say but just this : http://globalpublicsquare.blogs.cnn.com/2014/10/11/lets-be-honest-islam-has-a-problem-today/

My heart goes to little children, families and people of Pakistan.

Goodnight friends! Sad day for humanity and please pray for little souls..

Thank you!

Tom ford and a love story..

16 Dec

I will do two posts today. I had thought yesterday that would post a beautiful love story of designer Tom Ford and his partner Richard Buckley. I had read this sometime back and wished to share for you dear friends. Iam straight and never mind, this is a lovely story..

Tom Ford:

” Getting older together has been interesting because we’ve both changed. I was very quiet at the beginning of our relationship — I’m actually a very, extremely, almost pathologically shy person, which no one believes today, because I have also mastered a work/public facade that takes an enormous amount of energy to project. And Richard, when we first got together, was very, very social and very talkative. Richard is an extrovert, and I’m an introvert, but meeting us today you would think the opposite. Richard, now, often, can be quite quiet, especially if he knows you well. But if you get Richard at a party, he’s extremely animated. I actually hate parties, and I try not to go. I prefer dinner one-on-one or with four or six people.

One of the things that always amuses me — amuses isn’t even the right word, because it doesn’t amuse me — but often, I’m at dinner parties with very close friends, straight, and they realize that Richard and I have been together 24 years, and the response is often, ‘Wow, you guys have been together 24 years! That’s so amazing. I don’t think of gay men being together that long.’ And I’m, like, ‘Why? What are you talking about?’ Some of the longest relationships I know of are same-sex couples. A lot of my straight friends have married and divorced and married and divorced in the time Richard and I have been together. I think that preconception, from even very educated liberal friends, that being gay is possibly more sex-based than emotionally based, is surprising and shocking in today’s world. I’m someone who likes being part of a couple and always wanted that and always sought that, and it would probably be true for me whether I was gay or straight. Richard and I are bound together, and I think that’s what that recognition is when you look someone in the eyes and you feel like you’ve known them forever. It is a kind of coming home.”

Richard Buckley :

” Tom’s the perfect modern gentleman. We’re both old-fashioned that way. We both stand for ladies at the table and open doors for people. If you have good manners, people notice. And they appreciate it. You’re showing respect for them. When I got throat cancer in ’89, there were people who Tom cut out of our lives because of the way they responded. My best friend and one of my mentors had died — one in ’87 or ’88 and one later that year — both from AIDS, and there were a lot of people who just assumed that I had AIDS, and there were some people who wouldn’t come visit me because they were sure they would catch it. And Tom just cut them out — wouldn’t even speak to them if he ran into them on the street.

I couldn’t imagine being without Tom now. I couldn’t imagine what I’d be like if something happened to him. There’s only one Tom for me. He is still that man who I met 24 years ago, who has a good heart.”

This is a lovely story..

Goodnight friends! I always feel ” You should marry  a person you want to grow old with.”

It’s been a sad sad day for humanity. Hope you like the above story.
