Thich Nhat Hanh and Robin Williams

12 Aug

” A mountain is not swayed by the wind. And human beings, if they don’t know how to sit, to breathe, they may be swayed back and forth by their emotions, strong emotions, like winds. And practicing this, we become more solid, like a mountain.

There are people who do not know how to handle their emotions, especially the big emotions. And when they are overwhelmed by these emotions they don’t know what to do, and sometimes they have to commit suicide. They do not know that you are more than your emotions. So when there is a strong emotion, you just breathe, in and out, and become a mountain. And be aware that we are more, much more than one emotion. And we will overcome that emotion.

“Breathing in, I see myself as a mountain, breathing out, I feel solid.”

― Thich Nhat Hanh

I am sad today with the news of passing away of beloved actor Robin Wiliams. My favorite scene from the movies is ” Good Will Hunting ― Park  Scene” with Robin Williams and Matt Damon. Robin Williams played a Therapist in the movie and ironically real life and reel life seems to be tragically apart. I informed my brother about beloved actor and he told me the actor was sufferring from Bipolar. My brother is a hero for me and will write about him someday. In the memory of great actor, please see ” 10 questions for Robin Williams” here : http://time.com/3101990/robin-williams-dead-63/

I am sharing Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh’s quote as  a prayer. No matter what it is, never be disheartened dear freinds, never get caught up in a  strong emotion dear one, breathe and you will restore yourself, promise you it works…

Breathe in and Breathe out and reclaim yourselves dear ones and always remember ” This too shall pass“…

If its a clinical condition, seek help, seek very good help…

Never give up. Never!

Thank you!
