Qateel Shifayee

31 Jul

” Zindagi mein toh sabhi pyaar kiya karte hain, main toh mar kar bhi meri jaan tujhe chahunga.”

Everybody loves during their lifetime.I will love you even after my death my beloved.

― Qateel Shifayee

This is from a song. I thought this was beautiful. I dedicate this to my childhood freind. Qateel Shifayee is a eminent poet-lyricist from Pakistan. More from the poet :

“Apne hothon par sajana chahta hoon
Aa tujhe main gungunana chahta hoon”

My lips seek your name beloved
Come and want to sing your paens beloved

“Koi aansoo tere daaman par gira kar
Boond ko moti banana chahta hoon “

A single tear that befalls your dress ( skirt)  beloved
I want to transform that drop into diamonds ( pearls)

” Thak gaya main karte karte yaad tujhko
Ab tujhe main yaad aana chahta hoon “

I have grown tired every moment  remembering you
Now want you to remember me beloved…

Hope you have a lovely day dear friends! Remember me 🙂

Thank you!

Radhanath Swami on ‘Building Self Confidence in Children’

30 Jul

3-Building-self-confidence-in-children

” A lot of the problems with self esteem arise depending upon how we were treated when we were a child. If a parent is harsh towards the child, always criticizing the child, not giving proper encouragement or care to the child, then the child feels worthless and feels no inner value. But if a parent shows love for the child even when they make mistakes; disciplines the child, but in such a way that the child is always assured and reassured of their love, care and concern; invests so many encouraging words – ten, twenty, thirty times before they give one critical word – then child feels he or she is of value. Parents should also teach the child how to actually make decisions and not to depend on others for everything.”

The best gift to a child is good self esteem, sense of purpose, lots of love and discipline. The child need not be pampered with money  but  be given lot of love, skills and good self esteem. The child will then  grow into a beautiful, intelligent and succesful being. I feel so. Every child is beautiful, worthy and special.  Its really  important not to be too critical. Just one line is enough. I like Radhanath Swami’s teachings and they come from a true pure space.

Have a lovely day dear friends! Thank you!

Chaand Raat! Beautiful Henna Designs To Celebrate The End Of Ramadan

29 Jul

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/07/28/chaand-raat-henna-designs_n_5626662.html?utm_hp_ref=religion

I want to share this beautiful Henna design from Huff post on this auspicious day of Eid!  The writer Yasmine Hafiz of this Hufftington post article says ” The mehendi paste, made up of the powdered leaves of the henna tree, is applied with fine-tipped cones. The intricate designs are drawn onto the hands and feet and left to dry for a few hours or over night. When the dried paste flakes away, a rich, red color is left. The day before Eid is known as Chaand Raat, or the “Night of the Moon.” It is a celebration mainly observed in Pakistan and India, where women apply henna designs, do Eid shopping, and prepare foods to be eaten the next day. ”

My sister got married three years ago. A mehendi artiste and her children had come to our house to apply mehendi.  I have lot of young sisters in my extended family. Their excitement was palapable. I later went to drop Mehendi artiste and her children. They asked me to drop them on highway. They were nice and boarded a Bus home. I realised the art runs in family. My only encounter with Mehendi and Mehendi artiste. Some beautiful designs from Huff post below:

Eid ul-Fitr 2014: A Celebration At The End Of Ramadan (Hufftington Post)

28 Jul

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/07/27/eid-ul-fitr-2014_n_5605544.html?utm_hp_ref=religion

I want to wish dear friends Eid Mubarak and a blessed Eid!

Please follow this Huff post link for pictures celebrating and marking the end of holy month of Ramadhan.  According to the article ” According to a hadith attributed to Anas ibn Malik, a companion of the Prophet Muhammad, the two festivals of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha were instituted by the Prophet after his journey from Mecca to Medinah.“When the Prophet arrived in Medinah, he found people celebrated two specific days in which they used to entertain themselves with recreation and merriment. He asked them about the nature of these festivities to which they replied that these days were occasions of fun and recreation. At this, the Prophet remarked that the Almighty has fixed two days [of festivity] instead of these for you which are better than these: Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. ”

I have been haunted by images of mindless brutality of Gaza strip. I think humanity is less than human now… hope the cease fire leads to a lasting truce.

This Huff post pictorial album has palestinian vendors selling balloons in North Gaza strip. It’s ironical. I also liked pictures from Pakistan, women and girls buying colorful bangles and applying henna on their hands. I like these colorful bazaars ( markets).

On this happy day would like to wish my friends and loved ones Eid Mubarak!

Hope you have a lovely day dear freinds! Love and peace! Thank you!

Carlos Santana

27 Jul

” It’s a great joy. I’m very grateful. I don’t play soccer myself, but what we bring is very powerful because we bring an energy that we learned a long time ago from Woodstock, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Marvin Gaye and John Lennon. We represent all that energy. When we play we don’t lip-sync. It’s not plastic or cute. It’s not Hollywood. I’m from the ghetto, so when we play, you feel a different kind of supernatural energy. We represent so many. Not just Mexico, not just America, we represent the complete family of this planet. “

― Carlos Santana ( What does it mean to perform@ Fifa World Cup Brazil Finals)

The great musician is talking about subliminal passion. I loved this quote and wanted to share for you dear freinds The greats then have a greater passion.

It would be so nice if we find and strive towards our passion too.

Have a easy sunday friends! Thank you!

Eric Clapton – My Father’s Eyes

26 Jul

I think have a one track mind, if its football, its all football, if its poetry, its all poetry, if its music, its all music 🙂

It its something else, it’s all something else. Nah, let’s not get there 🙂

I want to share this song tonight dear friends! In all likelihood have shared this before, but this how feel today..

My father’s eyes : Eric Clapton

Sailing down behind the sun,
Waiting for my prince to come.
Praying for the healing rain
To restore my soul again.

Just a toerag on the run.
How did I get here?
What have I done?
When will all my hopes arise?
How will I know him?
When I look in my father’s eyes.
My father’s eyes.
When I look in my father’s eyes.
My father’s eyes.

Then the light begins to shine
And I hear those ancient lullabies.
And as I watch this seedling grow,
Feel my heart start to overflow.

Where do I find the words to say?
How do I teach him?
What do we play?
Bit by bit, I’ve realized
That’s when I need them,
That’s when I need my father’s eyes.
My father’s eyes.
That’s when I need my father’s eyes.
My father’s eyes.

Then the jagged edge appears
Through the distant clouds of tears.
I’m like a bridge that was washed away;
My foundations were made of clay.

As my soul slides down to die.
How could I lose him?
What did I try?
Bit by bit, I’ve realized
That he was here with me;
I looked into my father’s eyes.
My father’s eyes.
I looked into my father’s eyes.
My father’s eyes.

My father’s eyes.
My father’s eyes.
I looked into my father’s eyes.
My father’s eyes.

I have no mentors. If had one would not have struggled.  Be that as it may. I met fine people. I love my school. I have dear friends . I have had a father. I am grateful.

My father is my only reference. I learnt from him all you need in life is love and discipline. Iam not as good as him. As grew older  learnt the virtue of discipline. Love was no problem.  We can accomplish anything with love and discipline. May be that’s all children need to excel and flower. Lots of love and discipline.

I have my father’s eyes. I want to be a father. I think will be a good father because have ” My father’s eyes”..

My heroes are many. My mentor, my memory of my father.

I love this song. I love Eric Clapton and  see that guitar..

Good night friends! Hope you have a lovely day! Thank you!

Sinéad O’Connor : Chiquitita (ABBA) 1998

25 Jul

I want to share this 1998 Sinéad O’Connor rendition of ABBA song ” Chiquitita” for you dear friends..

Chiquitita : ABBA

Chiquitita, tell me whats wrong
Youre enchained by your own sorrow
In your eyes there is no hope for tomorrow
How I hate to see you like this
There is no way you can deny it
I can see that youre oh so sad, so quiet

Chiquitita, tell me the truth
Im a shoulder you can cry on
Your best friend, Im the one you must rely on
You were always sure of yourself
Now I see youve broken a feather
I hope we can patch it up together

Chiquitita, you and I know
How the heartaches come and they go and the scars theyre leaving
Youll be dancing once again and the pain will end
You will have no time for grieving
Chiquitita, you and I cry
But the sun is still in the sky and shining above you
Let me hear you sing once more like you did before
Sing a new song, chiquitita
Try once more like you did before
Sing a new song, chiquitita

So the walls came tumbling down
And your loves a blown out candle
All is gone and it seems too hard to handle
Chiquitita, tell me the truth
There is no way you can deny it
I see that youre oh so sad, so quiet

Chiquitita, you and I know
How the heartaches come and they go and the scars theyre leaving
Youll be dancing once again and the pain will end
You will have no time for grieving
Chiquitita, you and I cry
But the sun is still in the sky and shining above you
Let me hear you sing once more like you did before
Sing a new song, chiquitita
Try once more like you did before
Sing a new song, chiquitita
Try once more like you did before
Sing a new song, chiquitita

I love this song. I love Sinéad O’Connor’s singing.  This is a beautiful ABBA song .

In a world , where few people think about you and most judge you, we  are lucky,  if we  have one or two people who are our angels, our true friends…..

I want to say to my childhood friend  ” Try once more like you did before , Sing a new song, chiquitita. Let me hear you sing once more like you did before, Sing a new song, chiquitita…..”

This is a great  song. It gives us something to look forward to. Hope you like this beautiful Sinéad O’Connor version.

Goodnight friends! Hope you have a lovely day! Thank you!
