Afghanistan: Seen Through the Lens of Anja Niedringhaus

I have been reminded of human mortality twice this month and one of my fathers friend passed away yesterday. I prayed for his soul and we used to meet everyday. He was my neighbor. It was a natural death. I always get deeply affected by a soul’s departure. But what saw on television was horrific, two Associated Press women journalist’s shot in  Afghanistan. This is second time in recent times journalists have been shot. This is not a good sign. This is regressive and  decadence. Journalists are impartial observers and purveyors of information.  But if innocent people are killed in bombings.  Then there is no moral code. Its sad and scary.  Anja Niedringhaus the brilliant AP photographer passed away in this horrific milieu. The other reporter shot, Kathy Gannon is fighting for survival. I came across this Atlantic pictorial tribute of Anja Niedringhaus’s work in Afghanistan on CNN’s Christiane Amanpour‘s facebook page. Please see the brilliant work of the departed soul, each picture a story, Rest in Peace Anja Niedringhaus! For more on the news story :

Thank you!
